    The ambition

    Our long-standing client, William Smith 1832, approached us with the objective of increasing the demand for its Chapter 8 Chevron Kits products. Prior to this, the client lacked the functionality to sell this product online, leading to a lengthy and resource-intensive sales process. Their team knew they needed a scalable eCommerce platform to enhance the user experience and boost internal efficiencies.

    During our initial discovery phase with the client, we recognised that scalability and customisability were a necessity for the client. We recommended building the new eCommerce platform on our exclusive technology platform, Core.

    The project focused on the design and development of an engaging eCommerce platform that empowers customers to browse and purchase Chapter 8 Chevron Kits directly on the website - significantly shortening the sales cycle and enhancing the user experience.

    The feature-rich eCommerce platform offers standardised templates, shopping basket functionality, promotional panels, pricing options and customer account management.

    Product-centric website design

    Our eCommerce platform takes a mobile-first approach to design, ensuring responsiveness across all pages. In addition, we layered on a design system specific to product pages. The product page features clear and compelling product descriptions and a product preview feature that allows customers to preview their chosen Chapter 8 Chevron Kits on a vehicle. Users can filter how many options are shown per page, sort by alphabetical order, and filter by car manufacturer using the category navigation bar on the product overview page.

    The eCommerce platform directly connects to the client’s ERP system, streamlining the entire process from order placement to shipping.

    Customer account area

    The customer account area provides a seamless and secure experience for customers to manage their accounts and personal information. Their order history is visible within this area – simplifying order confirmation and any enquiries whilst encouraging loyalty as customers can revisit and repurchase their preferred products in a few simple clicks. The automated account expiry feature, aligned with GDPR retention periods, removes the need for the client to do this manually.

    "The reason we embarked on this project was to tap into the growth potential of Chevron Kits for our business. 

    As we all know, the buying habits of people have changed. Nowadays, consumers demand simplicity and convenience. The ability to order a product online with just a click of a button not only creates efficiencies for the consumer but also informs them about the choices and information available, which can instil trust and confidence. Unfortunately,  we didn't offer an online sales solution. We relied on telesales and outbound marketing, which made it difficult to achieve our desired reach in such a noisy market. By creating an eCommerce website, we now have a shop window that presents everything a consumer needs and wants to know to make a purchase.

    Although embarking on a project of this scale could be daunting, considering the technical complexities involved, Denisa, Glen, and the rest of the team were very supportive with their guidance and knowledge. Bringing together an e-commerce solution and a bespoke ERP/CRM system was never going to be straightforward. However, we managed to anticipate and navigate all the bumps in the road that came along the journey. I think it is fair to say everyone has gone above and beyond to make it happen."
