    The Ambition

    William Smith are a leading trade supplier to the sign and graphics industry. They have stayed at the forefront of their industry by investing in new production technologies.

    To ensure their online offering is as effective as their offline business they approached us to build their first eCommerce site. The brief was to build a website that would replicate their high levels of offline customer service with an up to date eCommerce sales channel.

    What we did

    Our designers created an eye catching look and feel in line with the William Smith brand. Using mega menu style main navigation, visitors are quickly and easily able to find the product range they need.

    What we did image

    Within each section there is a multi-layered filtering system that allows customers to perform a more specific search. There’s a search box which uses relevancy based search information to return accurate results. Customers can also search for products directly by using reference numbers.

    Our developers built a custom content management system specifically designed to allow the management of multiple complex product sets with numerous combinations including colour, finish, part roll / split roll etc.

    Integration

    A key part of the project was the integration of the website with William Smith’s existing pricing and stock control systems allowing customers access the same discounts via their online accounts as they would get by ordering ‘on account’ over the phone or in person. The result is a site that provides top level information for first time visitors and a login section for regular customers who can then see account specific pricing information and details.

    The site had an immediate impact with a number of major customers choosing to make orders through the online channel rather than through the call centre. There have also been a number of significant new customer wins for the team.
