    The Ambition

    William Smith is a prominent trade supplier to the sign and graphics industry. They have managed to stay at the forefront of their industry by continuously investing in new production technologies to enhance internal efficiencies and provide a seamless customer experience.

    To ensure that their online presence is as effective as their offline business, they approached us to build their first eCommerce website that would allow existing customers to seamlessly order online by replicating their exceptional levels of offline customer service. 

    What we did

    Our designers have created a visually captivating look that perfectly matches the William Smith brand. We've also introduced a mega menu style for the main navigation, making it easier for visitors to quickly find the products they're looking for.

    Within each section, we've implemented a multi-layered system to help customers conduct more focused searches. Our search box uses relevant information to deliver accurate results, and customers can even search for products using reference numbers.

    Additionally, our developers have built a custom content management system specifically designed to handle the complexity of managing multiple product sets. This system efficiently handles various options like colour, finish, part roll, and split roll configurations.

    Within each section there is a multi-layered filtering system that allows customers to perform a more specific search. There’s a search box which uses relevancy based search information to return accurate results. Customers can also search for products directly by using reference numbers.

    Seamless integration with existing systems

    One of the primary objectives of the project was to smoothly merge William Smith's website with its existing pricing and stock control systems. This integration guarantees that customers can enjoy the same discounts through their online accounts as they would when ordering over the phone or in person. As a result, the website serves as a comprehensive information hub for first-time visitors and features a dedicated login area for returning customers. Within this section, customers can easily access pricing details specific to their accounts.

    The Results

    The website launch had an instant impact, as several major customers began choosing to place orders online instead of through the call centre. Moreover, by introducing an online purchasing option, the team has attracted several new customers.

    A year after its launch, the website saw William Smith's online sales double.
