  • William Smith’s New Websites

    We have been working with the William Smith Group on their digital presence for a number of years - recently we launched exciting two exciting new sites as part of their new group structure.

    William Smith Group are the leading trade supplier to the sign and graphics industry and are one of the largest material suppliers in the UK. After experiencing significant growth over a number of years, the business has been keen to continue its commitment to improving its range of products and services for customers.

    Chris Bradley, Head of Marketing for the group, said: “Following a sustained period of growth and to reflect the dynamic nature of the markets we operate in, we have taken the strategic decision to slightly change how our company brands are presented. Creating a new group company structure provides the flexibility we need as we move into more diverse markets.”

    The new identity, named William Smith Group 1832, now includes three divisional brands including trade supplier of vinyl films, William Smith, trade sign manufacturers, Smith Sign & Display, and the recently launched Architextural, which supplies architectural and building-related films.

    Creating the new group structure has meant the need for new sites to sit alongside the group’s successful B2B eCommerce website williamsmith.co.uk. As a result, over the last few months we’ve been working on standalone sites for the Smith Sign & Display and Architextural brands. These will both be managed centrally by the William Smith marketing team via the custom content management system (CMS) we developed for them.

    Smith Sign & Display Website

    Smith are suppliers of sign and display products and have been in the industry for nearly 100 years making them the UK’s oldest signmaker. Creating a standalone site for the brand has allowed William Smith to break Smith away from their predominant association with material distribution and allow it to have its own presence. This is something that the UK’s oldest signmaker now has in the form of a fully responsive brochure site that really shows off the stunning range of products that they produce.

    Smith produce illuminated and non-illuminated signage, traffic signage and wayfinding systems for customers all over the UK. In fact if you’ve driven anywhere today or walked through a town or city centre it’s pretty much guaranteed that you have already seen a number of Smith’s products. As well as a new site to showcase the best the brand has to offer there ae also new social media accounts to complete the digital transformation.

    Architextural Website

    The Architextural brand from The William Smith Group 1832 supplies architectural and building related films. The films are used to transform decor both inside and out, or solve glazing issues with solar and security window films. Again creating a sub brand and a dedicated site was an important step for William Smith, allowing them to create an online presence which is in line with the group branding but also creates a sub brand with its own identity.

    The site we built is reflective of the ambitious new direction that Architextural is going in and is fully responsive to mobile devices and demonstrates the wide range of products and applications that are available. Central to the website’s design are the inclusion of three lined elements which are common across all William Smith group brands and reference the three main divisions of the Group.
