  • Traidcraft eCommerce Launches

    Just over a year ago we announced that we had entered a new digital partnership with Traidcraft. Over the past 12 months we have been working with the team at Traidcraft to transform their digital strategy and the eCommerce platform behind the Traidcraft shop.

    A major milestone in the digital partnership took place last week with the release of their brand new ecommerce site traidcraftshop.co.uk

    The new website marks a step change in how Traidcraft sell their products online. The first and most noticeable change is the move to a much more modern website design. The new site has a much cleaner look and feel with a more logical navigation structure which uses a megamenu approach to keep things tidy.

    Traidcraft have recently gone through a period of change and really amped up their marketing department who have ambitions to emulate other boutique and artisan suppliers like Not on the High street, The New Craftsman and Folksy.

    As part of their drive to improve they have invested heavily in new imagery and the use of this across the site, from large scale images on the home page through to landing pages across the rest of the site has had an major impact.Product listings have also improved significantly with additional filters and sorting options along with a more consistent style of product imagery applied across the site.

    As well as the immediately obvious changes to the front end of the website we have done a lot of work with tradecraft on the entire end to end user journey. This has included optimisations from product pages through to the checkout procedure.

    Meanwhile there has been a step change at the back end of the website based on the Magento 2 eCommerce platform. The website’s CMS is a major improvement on Traidcraft’s last system and allows them to have much more control over their products and promotions. Custom developments of the Magento 2 platform include integrations with a number of Tradecraft’s internal business systems.

    As with the majority of the clients we work with as digital partners a website is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the ongoing work that forms the wider digital strategy.
