Interactive Storyboard for Leeds Museums and Galleries

THE AMBITION
Temple Newsam House is one of the great country houses of England. The curation team created a series of live Twitter conversations between some of the historical characters of the house. Although well received, the real-time nature of Twitter meant that the episodes were no longer being seen. The team from Leeds Museums & Galleries came to us to create digital version of the project that could be used on site via a large touchscreen.
WHAT WE DID
In total there were 6 episodes of conversations that had taken place on Twitter between different characters from Temple Newsam’s history.
Using the existing assets in the form of character avatars, our designers and developers created a unique, large format touchscreen interactive that replicated the characters and the conversations between them.
The team brought the fascinating and rich history of Temple Newsam right up to date with a Twitter style feed and fun animations.
Bringing the cast to life
We extended static character images with animation, adding movement to draw the eye of visitors. The conversations were designed to run and loop automatically when not being interacted with, but users could interrupt them and navigate to different episodes and scroll through the conversations at any point.
The large touchscreen was displayed in the main reception area of Temple Newsam and meant that visitors could enjoy a really fun piece of content that would otherwise have been missed.
