Unleash the potential of your organisation…
How important is your customers’ online experience to your organisation’s future success? Very. And the same goes for how efficiently and effectively your team uses digital tools to manage operations and activities.
Digital is no longer something you do as well as your business – it’s increasingly the primary way in which customers interact with you, and how your team manages their day-to-day work.
So, an effective digital presence isn’t just a nice‑to‑have - it’s essential if you want to remain relevant, work smarter, move faster, and achieve more.
An effective digital strategy is an enabler of success….
Establishing and following an effective digital strategy that is aligned to achieving your business objectives is therefore a critical part of your business strategy.
Yet all too often, the importance of getting this right is overlooked. Digital and IT decisions are made without considering the bigger picture or understanding how they could influence future opportunities.
The result? Systems that don’t talk to each other, processes that slow down, team members getting frustrated and services not being delivered to the standard you aspire. This impacts quality, customers migrate elsewhere, and opportunities slip through the cracks. But it doesn’t need to be that way…
By taking a holistic view of how your digital ecosystem could enable your organisation to achieve its objectives, and developing a forward-thinking digital strategy that supports that, you put yourself in control. This enables your company to harness the full power of technology to achieve your goals.
This creates a more effective and resilient organisation, where digital becomes far more than the sum of its parts - driving better performance, better experiences, and better outcomes across everything you do.
The difference a digital strategy makes
A good digital strategy should be laser-focused on the ambitions of your organisation. These will be unique to you, and your digital strategy should reflect that.
Typical ambitions include:
Happier customers: delivering a great customer experience that makes your audience want to return to you time and time again

Growth: creating a competitive advantage that enables you to grow market share

Efficiency: streamlining processes, reducing duplication and bottlenecks, and enabling your team to focus on higher value work

Scale: removing barriers that may be preventing you from scaling up

Reach: engaging audiences more effectively across channels and touchpoints

Competitiveness: maintaining and gaining ground in your sector by making smarter, faster, and data‑driven decisions
...and anything else that’s important to your success!

How do we do it?
A typical digital strategy phase will begin with one or more workshop-style interactive sessions.
We’ll work with your team, to facilitate an open exploration into what your organisation wants to achieve, how that might be realised, and what might be holding you back.
The format is designed to deconstruct preconceived ideas of what you think you might need, and to create space for broader thinking around fresh ideas that could help you to achieve your goals. We’ll explore your organisational objectives and business aims – what are the key outcomes that would make the biggest difference to your success?
We’ll analyse your audiences - including customers, your internal team and any other key stakeholders who engage with you – what are their needs and motivations? What could we do to deliver a better experience for them?
We’ll explore the opportunities that could help achieve your objectives, and capture the barriers there might be for realising them, so that we can understand how we can overcome any challenges.
We’ll capture our discussions, and refine this over several sessions with your team and any other relevant stakeholders until results provide a full picture of where you’re currently at, where you’d like to go, and how you could get there.
Writing the digital strategy
The raw material produced from these workshops provides all the ingredients we need to form up your digital strategy. Using the information we’ve drawn out, the strategy will convey how your digital ecosystem could be developed to best address your business objectives, what should to be done when, the barriers that would need to be overcome, and the business case for doing so.
This provides your senior team with a clear blueprint so they can make objective, value-based decisions on how to progress.
Does the process take into account the opportunities of AI?
Of course – and by considering AI within the context of your wider digital strategy you end up with a far more holistic approach, one that aligns withyour business objectives, rather than becoming another disconnected system that doesn’t deliver on its potential.

Making it actionable
Alongside the digital strategy itself, we’ll also produce supporting material that shows how that strategy can be realised in practice.
This could include high level technical architecture schemas, data requirements, phase plans, system recommendations, resource requirements or anything else that will help show how the strategy could be realised.
Optionally, this phase can also produce the documentation that would be required to transition the strategy into a digital development programme that could implement the work identified, including:
- Workstream candidates: which break down any development work that may be required into discrete manageable work packages (“workstreams”). The value of each workstream candidate can be evaluated against a business case that aligns to your agreed strategy and business objectives.
- Delivery roadmap: which prioritises these on a timeline, allowing you to evaluate what can be achieved with different development timescales.
Once agreed, these can be used to transition the strategy into a digital development programme with Enigma, an in-house team, alternative suppliers, or a mix of all of these.
