  • Supporting Brain Tumor Research

Today Enigma is doing their bit to help raise money for Brain Tumour Research by having our own ‘Wear a Hat Day’.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer ... yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is passionately committed to raising both awareness and funding for research. The vision at Brain Tumour Research is to find a cure for brain tumours. To work towards achieving this, they have established an initial five-year mission to:

    • Raise at least £7 million per year in order to provide long-term, continuous and sustainable funds and support to seven centres dedicated to world-class brain tumour research.
    • Accelerate progress significantly in brain tumour research in the UK in order to make a clinical difference, through funding dedicated Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence.
    • Improve the outcomes for brain tumour patients.

Enigma will be helping out the best way we know how, with a few of our in house bakers creating a selection of tasty treats for people to devour and donate to the cause. Much to the delight of our staff our very own Mr. Titchmarsh has made his heavenly extra-chocolate filled brownies!

Of course we don’t just stop at the baked goods! We’ll be having a pay to play quiz that’ll have everyone scratching their head trying to remember the name of that one hat. With an extra special bonus round of who’s in the picture. Our staff will have to guess which of their colleagues is the child in the old photo – with 80s, 90s and possibly even 00s kids it’ll make for some clever guesses and interesting observations.

We have been known to help raise money for charity often and give back to our community. Did you know our chosen Company Charity for 2017 is Macmillan, following on from our Enigma Bake Off, with the team planning to raise money through activities such as The Great North Run and Tough Mudder in Scotland?

If you keep an eye on our social media networks today, you’ll be able to check out the fun. We may even share some of our childhood photos with you and see if anyone can guess the name from any interaction you’ve had with us, watch out for the #HATTASTIC.

No matter where you are or what you have planned you can show your support via text donate – simply text HAT to 70660 to donate £5. Brain Tumour research receives 100% of your donation.

    UPDATE

After a successful day of staff enjoying a selection of baked goods and hat madness, we managed to raise a fantastic total of £91.38 for Brain Tumour Research.

Check out some of the team wearing a selection of 'interesting' hats on the day...!
