We’ve had to keep this one quiet for a little while, but we are proud to finally be able to announce that we are working with one of the world’s most iconic lifestyle brands and one of the North East’s most famous success stories.
Enigma and Barbour have a history of working together and it’s an honour to be working with them once again on a number of exciting digital projects. The first of these projects was the platforming of their digital presence, migrating them from their existing web platform to a new Magento Commerce based eCommerce platform.
This strategic, business critical move has been taken to ensure a solid foundation for their worldwide digital presence now and in the coming years. The new platform supports a new site for Barbour and, for the first time, a separate site for Barbour International as well as a site for new brand Barbour Beacon.
The Barbour Beacon site was the first to launch following a social media teaser campaign spanning a number of months. Barbour Beacon takes inspiration from the heritage and style of Barbour and presents it in a modern and contemporary range of clothing and accessories. As part of a strategically phased launch the Barbour and Barbour International sites followed shortly after including regional version covering multiple global markets. Since the launch late last year, Insider Media reported that Barbour’s turnover has risen to £202.3m and pre-tax profit has increased 19% compared to the previous period.
Now the re-platforming and launch of the new sites is complete we will be continuing with an ongoing programme of work to ensure that together we deliver impressive eCommerce results. We also have a range of exciting new projects planned throughout 2019 which is Barbour’s 125th Anniversary year.
