  • Terrific Work for the BBC

We’re thrilled to finally be able to announce that over the past few months we have been working with the BBC on an exciting new project called Terrific Scientific.

The BBC’s Terrific Scientific is a UK wide primary science initiative aimed at 9-11 year olds and their teachers. The aim is to engage with pupils across the UK and provide them with an opportunity to collaborate and take part in a number of mass participation investigations which will have a real impact on current academic research projects.

We first heard about the project earlier this year when the interactive design element of the project was released through the BBC’s Digital Services Framework. Since the summer we have been working with the BBC knowledge and learning team to design the centrepiece of Terrific Scientific, an interactive map and user interface where teachers and their classes can upload the results of their investigations and experiments.

So far only the registration phase of the project has been released to school teachers across the UK which means we can only show you limited parts of the design but when the project is launched fully in February we will have a full news story and portfolio item in our Work Section.

In the meantime, if you know any schools, teachers or 9-11 year olds that would like to take part in what is set to be one of the biggest mass-participation scientific investigations that have ever happened in the UK. Register here.
