In these strange times it’s easy to feel a bit down in the face of a global pandemic so it can be really refreshing to find a little positive news to help keep us going.

In the last few days and weeks we have seen some amazing stories of human kindness and resilience shared across social media. We’ve also seen many of our clients doing what they can to help so we thought we’d take a moment to proudly recognise some of the amazing things that they’re doing.

Some of our clients are a critical part of the front line fight against Coronavirus providing essential services directly to patients as well as helping those of us lucky enough to be able to work from home and stay safe, these include:

• Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust providing life saving medical care to coronavirus patients and as well as many hundreds of thousands of other patients who still need them.
  
• The utilities sector including The Energy Networks Association, Western Power Distribution and Northumbrian Water who keep the power on and water flowing so that millions of us can stay safe at home in comfort.
  
• Pharmacies like Superdrug and Rowlands Parmacy are keeping millions of people across the UK supplied with essential medication.
  
• Manufacturing companies like Draeger supply medical and safety technology like ventilators and PPE and Armstrong Ceilings supply materials to essential projects in the healthcare sector.

Many more of our clients are changing what they do or going above and beyond their normal activities to help including:

• Barbour who have volunteered to produce protective garments for hospital workers.
  
• The North East Futures UTC is using its 3D printers to produce visors to be used as part of PPE for health workers.
  
• The Open University and ABPI provide a huge range of free online learning resources for those wanting to take the time to learn new skills or home schooling their children.
  
• Solopress have lent 40 iPads to Covid-19 patients in hospitals so they can keep in contact with their friends and family.
  
• Leeds Museums and Galleries are providing access to their amazing collections via social media and #MuseumFromHome.
