What They Say
"The designed landscape at Boughton has tantalised and perhaps irritated visitors over the years, so we are pleased to be working with Enigma Interactive and The University of Leicester to help us."
Gareth Fitzpatrick, MBE, Collections, Archives & Research Director, Buccleuch Living Heritage Trust
The University of Leicester needed a digital agency that they could rely on to deliver a wide range of digital projects from apps for an English Heritage site to illustrated games and eLearning for children. They chose us because of our experience delivering everything that they need.
What we did
We’ve produced a range of digital projects for different teams at Leicester Uni. The most recent was Adventures with Lex the Alien
Adventures with Lex
We created a fun tablet based game for children that is specifically designed to gather information for research into their perceptions of law. Lex, is a friendly illustrated alien character who lands on earth and needs to learn more about us and what’s right and wrong. Children are encouraged to record answers to questions throughout the game, these are later downloaded and analysed for research purposes. So far over 650 children have taken part.More...
The team at the University of Leicester and English Heritage site Thetford Priory approached Enigma because they wanted an immersive, interactive cultural and learning resource to bring the ruined monastery to life for visitors. We built an iPad app which uses native device features like GPS location tracking to create a virtual tour guide to show visitors where they are and provide pop-up content relating to where they are on site.More...
The team from Boughton House and the University of Leicester pieced together artefacts from across the country and new historical evidence that revealed the former glory of the house and gardens. They wanted visitors to be able to get a sense of the original splendour of the 110 acre 18th Century site.
We developed a working ‘proof-of-concept’ app to improve on-site visitor engagement and act as a platform to bring the recently discovered material and exciting on-going research to life, which is the first step in an extremely ambitious research and development programme which will run alongside the physical development of the gardens under the present Duke.
What we achieved
The Adventures of Lex has gathered research data from over 650 children
Lex is built to run natively on 35 dedicated Android tablets
Thousands of visitors to Thetford Priory can now download the companion app
