Goldsmiths have an international reputation for creativity – in 2013 we created their first virtual open day, an interactive experience to showcase the institution to prospective students. Following a college wide update to Goldsmiths’ visual identity, they approached us to create a new and exciting experience to help them continue to attract the best and brightest students.
What We Did
Having worked closely with Goldsmiths on their original virtual open day experience we already had a strong understanding of their core values. We also knew that since the original build they had invested lots of time in getting their marketing and communications activities and channels right.
Life at Goldsmiths
We took on the challenge to create a new virtual open day experience that dovetailed with the universities new visual appearance. Working within the brand guidelines from the marketing team our designers created an engaging interactive that puts prospective students at the heart of the experience and gives them a taste of life at Goldsmiths.
The main sections of the tour include information on: accommodation, the campus, students union, London life, academic life and much more. Other key features include, a live chat function and a scrapbook that allows prospective students to collect and keep information that’s of interest that they can have emailed to them. Links with Goldsmiths full set of social media channels are also provided.
As with the previous virtual open day experience one of the key requirements was for the student marketing team at Goldsmiths to be able to add and manage content. Consequently the virtual open day is integrated with Goldsmith’s Terminal Four content management system so that the team can easily update copy, video and images.
