KPM Musichouse




With a collection of well over 50,000 pieces of music, KPM MUSICHOUSE (a division of EMI) is one of the world's leading suppliers of production music to the film, television and radio industries. Enigma’s brief for the new KPM MUSICHOUSE website was to create a stunning, online centre-piece for the company which would show them to be contemporary, forward-thinking and fun – but also have a corporate feel; quite a mixed order!
The site needed to cater for KPM and MUSICHOUSE together and as separate entities; in fact, we created three sites within one which needed to sit alongside each another comfortably. This has been achieved in a most unusual and effective manner by using Flash to animate ‘horizontally’ between sites and vertically between menu items. The result is a visually stunning site with a ground-breaking navigational system.
- Users are able to log in directly to PLAY from every page. In fact, the site draws its music samples directly from PLAY and allows users to download tracks seamlessly from the PLAY site.
- ‘New Releases’ along with ‘News and Latest Credits’ ensure that users are informed of all the latest offerings and happenings. These sections are updated by KPM MUSICHOUSE themselves using a Content Management System linked into the Flash front-end.
- A virtual MP3 Player allows users to sample KPM MUSICHOUSE tracks whilst viewing the site, and puts the user in control.
- The ‘Instant Music Search’ feature allows users to talk to a human advisor in a real-time chat environment to help them with their music search.
- The beautifully illustrated Musical Timeline is an application in its own right which gives users insightful information about composers, their music and musical genres through the ages.
