Informa PLC publishes market-leading, high-quality magazines across a wide range of specialist subjects. For the second year running, Enigma were commissioned to produce an interactive CD for the front cover of their Cargo Systems magazine. The CD lists the Top 100 Container Ports of 2008 and provides a wealth of statistical and other information about each port as well as more general, editorial information.

The main navigation is via an interactive map of the world which illustrates the location of the Top 100 Container Ports. Users can zoom in on the map and can click and drag to move around the map whilst zoomed in. Each port is indicated with a numbered icon which can be clicked to show more information about that port.

There is a detailed listing of port statistics such as throughput teu figures, percent increase on last year and so on. This data in presented in tabular format and each column header can be clicked to re-order the data accordingly. These figures were meticulously checked and tested before release to ensure they were correctly displayed against their relevant port.

The CD was animated and programmed using Flash and ActionScript making it ideal not only for CD but also for the web. In fact it has been put online and can be viewed on the Cargo Systems website at the link above.
