Towards Tomorrow's Countryside

A complete interactive exhibition developed in partnership with SMS Multimedia where a full range of services was required from production of promotional leaflets, graphic design and display, through to video / software creation and on-site set up.

Towards Tomorrow's Countryside features a variety of activities for all ages and aims to educate visitors about sustainable development in the Lake District. To begin, an attractor video sequence highlights the main points of the exhibition.

An interactive quiz features across two plasma screens and even has its own presenter. Up to five teams can play against each other, answering questions related to the exhibition. To find out more, further information on sustainable development can be accessed by using the touch screen information system.

As a visitor, you can 'Have your say!' by taking part in an interactive survey. Questions are posed on a screen and answered by selecting a button. The results screen displays the total number of replies so far.

The Biodiversity Telescope allows visitors to look into a mock telescope and view pictures from around the Lake District. The user can press buttons to navigate between North, South, East and West, and also 'zoom in' and 'zoom out'. In addition there is a commentary to accompany each image.

Young children have their own activity - they can hunt for Barny the owl who is hidden in various nooks and crannies around the room.
