Victim Support
Crime and You is a site funded by Victim Support Scotland (VSS) for young victims of youth crime in Scotland. It caters for three age ranges - Under 8s, which is tailored for a very young audience and is beautifully illustrated using colourful cartoons; 8s -12s, which is a more grown-up version of the information featuring funky imagery and educational interactive pages; Over 12s, which is a plain speaking, friendly resource for older children.
Support and advice for all young people affected by youth crime is offered via thoughtfully designed web pages which combine Flash and HTML to provide a safe and friendly environment. The Youth Justice System in Scotland is explained via interactive diagrams and colourful graphics which help young people to make sense of the legal process.
A section dedicated to parents and carers describes how they can best use the site and how they can help young people to get the most from it. This section is fully cross-referenced to other areas of the site where more information is available. Downloadable PDF versions of various relevant VSS leaflets and links to other useful websites make this section a useful resource for parents and carers.
