Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

What is SEO?

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is the process of optimising a website to increase the organics search engine rankings across a large range of search engines, including; Google, Yahoo! Live Search (formally MSN) and Ask.com

Organic listings, unlike pay per click (PPC) listings are free for each visitor to your website. They also represent about 70% of all search engine clicks. These two main factors nearly always help achieve a higher long term return on investment (ROI) than the PPC listings.

Organic listings are calculated using over 200 different factors and each search engine has their own algorithm to weight the different factors. Some of the more important factors include the number of relevant incoming links, the age and authority of your domain, the relevance of your page meta data to the page content and the quality of your websites text.

Search Engine Optimisation is the process of maximising those factors to improve the overall quality and search engine friendliness of your website.

One note of caution is that high natural listings do not happen over night and an optimisation campaign should be managed for a minimum of 6 months.

Our Services

Our search engine optimisation services can be grouped into five distinct stages; research and development, website modifications, initial on-page optimisation, on-going link building and reporting. We believe that all five stages are important to complete an aggressive search engine optimisation campaign.

Research and Development:

Enigma believes research is the most important stage in the development of a search engine optimisation campaign. Poor keyword research and competitor analysis can lead to a badly designed campaign which will yield a low return on investment (ROI). Enigma’s research stage concentrates on three main areas; competitor analysis, customer behaviour research and the campaign creation

Website Modifications:

Enigma has a large dedicated website development team with a collective knowledge of a wide range of development languages and techniques. Should the search engine optimisation team recognise any web development issues, which may be hindering the optimisation of the website they can involve the development team. This could include visual changes if required, or simply ‘cleaning-up’ the code to make the website process faster and be read easier by the search engines.

Initial On-Page Optimisation:

This stage commences once a full campaign has been agreed upon. The on-page search engine optimisation can be split into 3 main areas; Meta data optimisation, page copy modifications and other site issues.

On-Going Link Building:

The best search engine optimisation results are accomplished when the campaign is implemented on an on-going basis. Although the importance of on-page optimisation can not be taken lightly, in competitive markets and for large website, achieving high end rankings is only made possible via link building campaigns.

An incoming link to your website is considered a ‘vote’ by the search engines. This ‘vote’ is weighted by the popularity and relevance of the voting website. The more relevant and more popular the voting website is the more influential the vote is on your rankings. Naturally the more of these ‘votes’ you get the higher your website will rank in the search engines.

However, five very relevant links from popular websites can be better than 500 links from irrelevant, spammy and unpopular websites. Therefore a link building campaign needs use the knowledge gained at the research stage to target relevant websites.

It is important that the research stage is reviewed periodically and any changes discovered are replicated on the website copy and in the link building campaign.

Reporting:

Enigma tracks campaign success in three ways:

  • Achievement the goals and objectives set out at the start of the campaign
  • Improvement upon keyword ranking reports
  • Increased site traffic from organic sources and site conversions

These success benchmarks are provided to clients in regular reports, full of easy to understand website information, including site performance indicators, ranking information and some more general statistical website data.

The report aims to keep you fully informed of the progress and success of our work. We also prefer to have a quarterly review with all clients to ensure that goals and objectives are revised and there is clear understanding of the direction of the work.

Our Prices
