News: The Open University launches brand new interactive tour
Published: 28 October 2010
Enigma are delighted to announce today’s launch of a brand new style of interactive learning and entertainment site for those clever people at The Open University.
Launched this Hallowe'en weekend, Museum of the Dead invites you to rediscover the creatures who have been extinct since the 2010's! This exciting interactive uses mock animal obituaries, wit and humour to provoke and encourage thinking about species loss and biodiversity.

Museum of the Dead encourages user generated content and uses social media tools to further promote the messages it delivers about biodiversity and engages with a wider audience.
A combination of fact, wit, humour, music and animation is brought together to provide a highly immersive experience.
Set up as a tour of a decrepit museum – complete with quirky curator and headsets – visitors can view exhibits of animals past and present, read and comment on their obits (a mixture of fact and fiction), and take part in online voting.
The site is a highly engaging, interactive experience. Visitors are encouraged to leave comments in the book of condolences for each of the animals, share with friends on Twitter and Facebook and vote for the 10th animal to be exhibited - to be chosen by The Open University at a later date.
I’m impressed with Enigma Interactive. They made a huge contribution to the Museum of the Dead. They took time to understand our idea and came up with a compelling solution. Their design team conjured superb visuals for the piece. Similarly their use of sound was outstanding, receiving much positive feedback. Behind the scenes, their technical development was well planned and executed. Our users love the interactive. Significant credit for that must lie with this talented agency.

We’ve immensely enjoyed working with The Open University. A lot of creative thought and work has gone into the site to ensure it captures the interest of, and engages with, the wider audience it is aiming at. This is an excellent example of what the team at Enigma do best!
Zoe Hartill, Business Development Manager, Enigma
Museum of the Dead compliments the weekly Saving Species programmes delivered on Radio 4 by The Open University and BBC – whilst aiming to capture the interest of a wider audience on the web.
So why not give it a try? Enter if you dare!
