We’re delighted to announce that Enigma have been selected by the BBC to take part in an exciting, new initiative led by BBC Children's.  This Northern-focused project will involve a limited number of handpicked interactive agencies.

This is an exciting new concept and there is real business up for grabs, with CBBC and CBeebies commissions to be won by creative organisations working on interactive media across the North of England. There is some great creative work going on in the digital sector across the North and we want to work in partnership to develop new and exciting multiplatform content for our young audiences.

Peter Salmon, Director, BBC North

Led by BBC Children’s, BBC @North aims to support the development of creative thinking and multi-platform content.

It is hoped the project will also help to introduce Northern-based, independent companies like Enigma to those lovely people at the BBC ahead of their move oop North to MediaCity, Salford.

This new development process is about bringing people, technology and creativity together. We are excited to be working with the successful companies across the North to help develop bold ideas into fresh new content for our online users and audiences.

Adrian Mills, leading the project on behalf of BBC Children's

During a series of intensive workshops, Enigma  and several other Northern agencies will be mentored by various BBC Department Heads and senior subject experts to go on to develop creative ideas and original thinking during a series of intensive workshops. The North-East based workshops will be held in conjunction with Northern Film Media.

The best concepts will be chosen to go forward to the final commissioning selection process – where it is hoped up to £500,000 can be shared between four final projects for CBBC and CBeebies.

We’re delighted to have the opportunity to work alongside producers at the BBC. We’re hopeful that it will be a good opportunity for the BBC to harness some of the great creative talent we have here in the North East.
