News: Enigma & RSPCA Launch Revolutionary Website
Published: 06 January 2010

Enigma is to launch a new, interactive education website for the RSPCA. Targeting Key Stage 4 pupils, the site boasts many innovative features including two interactive, web-based activities.
The site - www.science-ethics-animals.org.uk - designed and built by Enigma - has been described as “educational and thought provoking“.
Chris Holmes, the RSPCA’s National Education Manager, said:
This resource will provide a unique opportunity for young people to explore some of the ethical dilemmas that advances in science and technology pose for society.
The two main educational activities hosted on the site, entitled “Ethics Court” and “Value of Life,” are revolutionary for interactive content of this type. They each use full-screen, dramatic video content and interactive features to get across complex ethical issues and provide curriculum based animal welfare facts.
Steve Grainger, Managing Director of Enigma said:
The site uses content in an innovative and thought provoking way to engage young people with science issues. It has been an exciting project to be involved in from the outset, and it has been a great experience working with an organisation of the stature of the RSPCA.
The online resource is designed to appeal to young people and the Enigma team had fun working with Prudhoe Community High School for parts of the project.
The site will be officially launched and showcased at the Association for Science Education (ASE) Annual Conference, University of Nottingham; 7th – 9th January.
